Ole Miss Wins 2022 Championship

The Ole Miss Rebels are the 2022 Mens College World Series champions after defeating the Oklahoma Sooners in two games in the finals. The Rebels won the first game of the series 10-3, and then took the second game 4-2 to claim the title. This is the first national championship in program history for Ole Miss.

The Rebels went 5-1 in the MCWS, beating the Auburn Tigers once and the Arkansas Razorbacks in the semifinals. Oklahoma also went 5-1 in the tournament, with their only loss coming in the finals to Ole Miss.

The championship game was a pitching duel between Ole Miss's Gunnar Hoglund and Oklahoma's Cade Cavalli. Hoglund allowed just two runs on five hits in 6.1 innings of work, while Cavalli gave up four runs on eight hits in 5.2 innings.

Ole Miss's offense was led by Jacob Gonzalez, who went 2-for-3 with a home run and two RBIs in the championship game. Oklahoma's offense was led by John Spikerman, who went 2-for-4 with a home run and two RBIs.
