Bob Newhart has won an Emmy for his performance on "The Big Bang Theory." The 84-year-old TV veteran won the honor for Outstanding Guest Actor in a Comedy Series. He played the role of Professor Proton, a physicist who was a mentor to the show's main characters. Newhart reprised the role a few times, most recently in a 2020 voice-over on the "Big Bang Theory" prequel, "Young Sheldon."
