Rhys Hoskins: MLB First Baseman for the Milwaukee Brewers

Early Life and Career

Rhys Dean Hoskins (born March 17, 1993) is an American professional baseball first baseman for the Milwaukee Brewers of Major League Baseball (MLB).

Born in Sacramento, California, Hoskins played college baseball for the Sacramento State Hornets before being drafted by the Philadelphia Phillies in the fifth round of the 2014 MLB draft.

Major League Career

Hoskins made his MLB debut with the Phillies in 2017, quickly establishing himself as a power hitter. In 2018, he led the National League (NL) in home runs with 34 and RBIs with 125, earning his first All-Star selection.

In 2023, Hoskins signed with the Milwaukee Brewers as a free agent.

Injury and Recovery

In March 2023, six days after turning 30, Hoskins tore the anterior cruciate ligament (ACL) in his left knee. He underwent surgery on March 31 and is expected to miss the entire 2023 season.

Personal Life

Hoskins is married to Jayme Hoskins. They have one child, a son named Rhys Dean Hoskins Jr.
